That was me alright.... but it's hardly a new idea. I think the concept 
has been around for about 150 years at least.

Use backcheck leather, preferably pretty smooth stuff. Just about any 
glue will work, tho I like using the white glue we get over here for 
backcheck leather.

First glue and let dry on shoulder...from about 10:00 down to where the 
hammer felt ends. Then when thats good and dry stretch tightly over the 
crown and glue and clamp on the other shoulder.

Its a good idea to have a decent roundish shape to the hammers ahead of 
time... so do any reshaping needed ahead of time.

Should hold up with light use for quite a long time really.
