"Whumping" Baldwin

I've seen seriously "whumping" baldwin grands and found that the heavy,
cast clamps used to hold the legs on had worked loose. Some taps with a
2 1/2 lb sledge and the whumping went away.

I have a couple of clients with older model "R"s that
have the same issue. There's an awfull lot of lead in
the system. This seems to be the culprit.
