I've had great luck with Lakeone Wood Rebuilder (http://www.hummercap.com/lakeone3.htm). I paint the screws with liquid Teflon as a mold release, then mix up a stiff batch of this two part polyester that won't run out and fill the hole with it, then immediately drive the screw in after it. Since the stiff mixture is made by using more hardener it sets up faster and in as little as 1/2 hour you can remove the excess with a sharp chisel and reinstall they lyre. This stuff is amazing, but the smell is like very strong bondo. It also works great for permanently fixing stripped grand action bracket screws, cheekblock screws, lid hinge screws, etc. - Mark -----Original Message----- From: Phil Ryan [mailto:pryan2@the-beach.net] Sent: Tuesday, July 20, 2004 7:38 PM To: Pianotech Subject: Quick fix for pedal lyre Anyone got a quick fix for a fallen down pedal lyre that has the hold-up screws stripped out? I can't use a thicker screw (maxed out), can't fill it with epoxy (It'll run out). Other that gluing in a dowel and redrilling, any other solutions? I'd appreciate any help. Phil Ryan
