First find out it if that is the problem by muting with your arm, rags, temp strips whatever...then remove until you find the culprit duplex and just mute that one. I did this on a Stein D just recently. One note in the first treble wouldn't stop sustaining until I mute one duplex in the mid tenor... Typically the tenor is muted up to about 1/2 way up...
