Church organ - lubrication

Hi

I've filled the oil cups many time, using the long plastic tube of 'Hammond"
oil generally found in the organ. .

Is there a REAL difference, or is it just some manufacturers 'mystique' to
prevent some eager homeowner from topping them up with 10W30 . . .
Inquiring minds want to know

oil slowly drains down into the tone-wheel generator, and one cup full is
all that is needed. You can over oil them too.
