MessageWelcome to the Pianotech List!

The soundboard should have positive crown - remember to measure between =
all ribs.

If it does not, replace it.

How did the piano sound before being torn apart? Is it straight strung?

Any pictures to share?

  Hi list,

I'm a new member on this list.
At the moment I'am restoring an old Bechstein grand # 1228 from 1864.
All the ribs are loose and the bridges also

Should the soundboard be crowned ? And if so, any suggestions ?
