Well, as I said, I am definitely not your ivory specialist, but this=20
method works for me so well that I am actually amazed every time I use=20=

it.
In regard to the joints I can say this : it is my experience that if=20
the ivory parts have been loose for not long, you will have no real=20
problem making it very nice again. The problem arises when the heads=20
and tails have curled and have been loose for months at a time.
In that case it works better to take the whole key board to the work=20
place and put your specialist on it.
btw, just because we have a lot of experience with old ivory, we are=20
now in favor of sending the key board to Kluge to replace the usually=20
old and thus worn (transparent and hollow) ivories with brand new=20
Steinway Ivoplast.
At Kluge they do a very nice job, putting new wood on the key sides and=20=

the Ivoplast looks very very nice even on older instruments.
Most customers shy away from the idea of plastic on their old respected=20=

keys but it is my experience that once they have the new Steinway=20
stuff, they really love it because it looks fabulous and feels nice=20
too.
Of course it is again possible to order new ivory, but most customers=20
are not willing to pay for that, which is clearly understandable if you=20=

look at the prices they ask for that.

I do not like these small letters and I noticed that more and more=20
people here on this list do the same.
I am getting older, not younger, and even with my computer glasses I=20
have to enlarge the font everytime. Why do you guys and galls do this=20
to me?
