We put a block in one of these a couple of years ago. I considered it hardly worth the effort, but there was sentimental value. The block was barely fitted to the plate and the connection between the block and the rim was negligible, but that seems about normal for Aeolians of that period. I'm guessing that they considered this about the lowest of their low-end pianos - that's certainly how they built it! - Mark -----Original Message----- From: David Love [mailto:davidlovepianos@earthlink.net] Sent: Wednesday, April 28, 2004 11:55 AM To: Pianotech Subject: Wheelock Pianos Has anyone opened up a Wheelock Piano (grand c. 1930) who can comment on its overall design quality?
