"Bobbling" hammers on a new Yamaha U3. ( Please help! )

You may have to do a few other things as well to get things like you 
want them. Bring the blow distance in to the minimum  side of Yamaha 
specs,  re-adjust the capstans for lost motion.  Check your damper 
spring strengths, and the strength of the jack return springs.  They 
only need to be strong enough to do their respective jobs...and any 
extra strength usually causes more problems (like bobbling) then any 
benifit that might yeild. Make sure both stop rails are not part of the 
problem, and lube the jack centerpins.  If its buckskin you have 
there.... a bit of teflon mixed in with protek can help any friction 
issue you have.
