The Stringer or a curtain rod?

Hi Elwood, The brass on the inside of the tube has turned green as brass
will do. Most likely a little heat on the outside wall of the tube with some
Goose Juice applied first. The heat should be applied from the ends to the
center to encourage the oil to follow into the space between the tubes, like
soldering.
In brass instrument repair, they try the puller first, then a little heat
if that does not work. I have even used an electric shavind devise as a
vibrator to get the oil inbetween the two slides when all else failed. Took
a few days and applying oil often.
