Voicing an old piano

Search the archives.  I think people have recommended dropping the tension
about half a step, and then pounding the heck out of the note (well,
pounding the dust and dirt out of the windings).  Maybe not as good as
unhitching the string and rolling a loop, but apparently gives good results
for the small amount of effort.
