Terry, There is a technique for gluing ribs on guitar soundboards that involves pressing the glued rib into position, and sliding it back and forth until it "grabs", then applying the clamps/go-bars. I think what's actually happening is shearing the glued film until it is thin (dimensioinally, not viscosity) enough to not skid. Works with titebond and other cold water-based glues as well as hot hide. Could this work on pianos? Or are the parts too big and stiff?
