About 15 years ago I restrung a 1956 S&S 1098 and since the original pins
were still real tight (after 30 years) I left the old pins in. With a
little Protek on the bearing points it's the nicest tuning 1098 I've had
the pleasure (!) to tune.

Since Ric asked this of Bill, I made the new coils on a dummy pin first.
