Beats me, but I haven't found anything better than a modified screwdriver
I've used in the shop since year one for de-stringing. In the field, a thin
blade screwdriver is plenty good enough for me.

It chews up the lid pretty quickly. As usual, the tool choice and
procedures depend on the situation and your requirements. You can open a
paint can with a sharp rock or firearms if you intend to use the entire
contents of the can the first time. If you intend to open the can 350 times
over the next six months (or years) and would like to have the lid seal
between openings, you need to take a little more care not to trash the lid,
and a little more time cleaning up the rim before putting the lid on.
