Two scenarios are likely...but more are possible! :-) One is that the prior tech did bend the damper wire and thus changed the position of the sos tab.... if this is the case bending the wire back in proper manner will solve the clicking problem...... The second possibility is that the tab now sets just high enough to hit the sos rod ...if this is the case a slight adjustment downward of the underlever will solve the problem....... of course a new tab felt might cure the whole thing......
