Most real centers will take it. They won't pay anything for it. #1 grade scrap copper is bare electric wire. I was bringing in scrap soft water tube, still shiny, no solder, and it was #2. At least you don't have to pay to dump it. Cleaned or melted down it might build up. The scrap guys like to measure things in tons. A big truck of cast iron plates looks real good. Watch the price of the metal on the business page. Copper would go from $.90/lb to $1.49/lb for #2 at certain times of the year.
