FWIW, I have decided to not plug the old Baldwin pinblock. I will replace the pinblock. Thanks to the list for the reality check. After considering the time required, how much wood would be chewed up with 240 3/4" - 7/8" holes, and then the final product, I decided the collective heads of this list were screwed on straighter than mine. I appreciate the input.

However, in my continuing effort to not have anything be efficient or go smoothly, my adventure this time will be making my block from scratch. I cut all the wood last night - took about three hours to cut. I'll see how long it takes to epoxy the cut quarter-saw wood into planks, slice the planks into various thickness laminations, then epoxy laminations for the final product. I think it will actually work out economically. Time will certainly tell.

Conrad or someone wrote a day or two ago about not being able to cut a slice of pinblock with his bandsaw. Just curious, what kind of a set up do you (or whoever it was) have?
