IMHO, no comparison. You hold the palm nailer securely in one hand directly on top of the tuning pin. Press lightly on tuning pin and the thing starts hammering directly downwards. You hold the nailer directly in line with pin and hammering motion is always exactly in line with pin. Pretty hard to do with a sledge. Pins flow in like butter. Very easy to control.
