Pretty scary first race, with all those equipment failures!  That =
pencil-end main boom is an interesting idea to save weight, but it sure =
doesn't take side loads well, eh?  Should help keep it out of the water =
when dead downwind in heavy air, too, which is always a risk to punch it =
through the mast... ;-(  Haven't figured out that hull appendage, =
though.  Does water actually pass between it and the hull?
