David,

I did the repair as you described below and it seems to have worked
perfectly.  The action is back in the customer's piano and is working
beautifully.  Thanks for the advice.  For the other's out there that
recommended welding, I'm sure that would work fine but in this particular
case, with a nice clean break, the steel-fileld epoxy worked like a charm!
