Turning down the plate screws to increase bearing

How hard it is to turn when you loosen the nut should give you some
indication of the pressure the plate is under. If it doesn't lighten up in
the first turn as you loosen, I think I would return it to it's original
position and leave it. Of course if you feel lucky............
