Turning down the plate screws to increase bearing

No more than 1/4 turn. But it was one of those passing bits of info that =
flew by me during some discussion in the shop. We had covered a bit of =
downbearing in the technical at the guild chapter meeting. Dale tried to =
subscribe to the list again and got a confirm letter but hasn't received =
any posts. Anybody know why? He has aol.

bearing in the capo section.  How far can I safely turn down the plates =
bell bolt and plate screw in order to flex the plate downward in that =
area.
