That sounds more like an "M". According to the Steinway Service Manual the 
O introduced in 1900 is 5'10" and it was stretched 1/2" in 1914 to 5'10 
1/2". It was discontinued in NYC in 1923.

An O is basically an L in a more elegant-looking (IMO) case.
