Steinway Models S and M do not meet PTG tuning exam criteria. I am sure 
there are chapters that use Steinways for tuning exams; there is 
certainly no rule against using the Steinway L and larger, but ... they 
are rarely used because of the lack of tuning pin bushings and the 
non-standard tuning lever technique needed on older Steinways. The exam 
is supposed to present minimum adversity to the examinee.
