Hmmm... it would seem that my information is perhaps a tad bit incorrect... seldom event but just so... :)

In anycase guys... this was the word I got at Arlington, and at Reno from the boys in the band. They chose
Kawaii's and Yamaha's and would not use Steiways due to scaleing problems.

The rest of the basis for my comment is found in comments I have heard through the last few years on the list.
Am I mistaken in saying that it has been stated several times by several different contibutors that Steinway
scales are lacking, and that one (amoung several other) basis for this is that the inharmonicities these
display do not allow for evenly graduated and nice smooth looking tuning curves... especially noted in the
tenor / bass exchange and in the bass at large ?

In anycase... the thrust of my comments, which were indeed a bit tongue in cheek, was to raise the issue about
just what constitutes a good scale.
