When I want to be really neat, I remove the bag from the power planer
and fit the vacuum hose around the exhaust. I really minimise the
mess.

One more thing on this rebuilt: Maybe the hammer flanges were replaced
with thicker ones... I've seen this happen (as a matter of fact, it
ALMOST happened to me).
