Hello,

I'm temped to believe that it will not do nothing, as Febreze is not and
odor inhibitor, it is an smell taste inhibitor (slight difference).

May be that will be better if it was sold as pills that we can take once the
day, and have no smell the remaining time.

We in France prefer to use a few drops of Chanel N?5 for pianos that smell
sulfur (don't forget these are instruments of joy)

But what I like the most is the one (very few actually) that put a big bag
full of product to kill the moths in the piano. When you open it to tune you
almost fall down.

Regards.

Objet : Febreeze on piano parts?

  Hi,

In speaking with a customer he happened to mention that he decided to
spray Febreeze on the hammers and the dampers on his grand piano (an old,
privately purchased musty & dusty grand). I would expect that he just
sprayed through the gaps in the strings as I am sure he wouldn't have known
how to take any of it apart. After recommending that he not spray anything
on the inside of the piano he assured me that it was "fine"...."Febreeze is
a light mist and evaporates..."

I am curios as to what potential damage he has caused to the action or
strings? And would you expect any resulting damage to show up immediately
or over time?

I guess I am constantly amazed at what people will do to their
pianos...kind of like the guy who decided to polish all the copper strings
with Brasso the day after delivery.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

  ~Lanie
