I met Newton Hunt a couple years back when delivering a grand to his =
home. He bought it from a posting on Pianotech (naturally!). His plan =
was to use it to instruct a class on rebuilding at the local community =
college. He had a rather small home with an old upright piano in the =
enclosed porch. We placed the grand we brought in what appeared to be =
the dining room. It took up most of the available space! Newton had =
deteriorating vision, but this didn't stop him working on and teaching =
about pianos. He happily guided us through his basement shop full of old =
actions and drawer after drawer of parts. Before I left, he gave me a =
box of tuning pins! He had a tip for every problem, it seemed, and =
delighted in helping when he could. It was a pleasure to meet him.
