Hi folks Back to this wonderfull tendency of keyframe frontrails to curl upwards on the ends. Now on S&S this is part of the design, and you have these wonderful brass inserts in the cheekblocks to force the keyframe down tight to the keybed. These brass inserts come complete with a pinned roller for the keyframe side pins to facilitate keyframe movement when shift pedal is engaged. They also provide a nice (treble end) easy way of adjusting the hammer strikeline in or out. What I am curious about is whether or not it is a smart idea to retrofit other pianos with this kind of insert. Any ideas, thoughts ? RicB -- Richard Brekne RPT, N.P.T.F.
