Everyone is getting too bogged down with SBR. Overly thinking too much. (Don't think,. DO -- Yoda) The hammers in question are too heavy, period. Lower them to the quarter medium zone ( ~ 10.8 to 5). The SBR will stay relatively the same because the BW changes proportionally with the SW. To some degree the friction may lower also by having less weight on the knuckle and capstan. For instance, if your lower the SW of note 16 from 11.9 to 10.3. The SBR is presently 5.8 (we'll call it 6). Dropping the SW 1.5 g will lower the BW by ~9g bringing it from 49 to 40; this is still a 5.8 SBR. Likewise dropping the SW of note 76 (SBR = 5.4) from 7.3 to 6.2 will lower the BW ~5g. Bringing BW to ~45; SBR 5.5. Even by adding 6g to FW, the SBR will stay the same because BW changes proportionally. There is no need to make such a big production of it. Don't make it so convoluted. Lighten the hammers and watch what happens, the tone in the treble will be clearer; I betcha.
