Touchweight Metrology Question

Terry:

You can't just change the KR and run the formula. Since a change in the KR
will effect the BW and thus the SWR you have to change it all the way
through the formula. Remember that with an unequal balance rail position
you are not just trying to make the KR's equal, but the total ratio equal.
Moving the capstan for the sharps will put the contact point on the wippen
heal in a different place and thus change the effect of the wippen lever
compared to the naturals. In short, to make the sharps and naturals equal,
they will not have equal key ratios.

The naturals are easy to get a workable FW below the FW ceiling, the sharps
just won't get there - even if I adjust the KR to .48, like the naturals. I
should think they would just fall in line by changing the KR. What's the
deal?
