Steinway advertising

Can anyone calculate how many Hundreds of Millions of Dollars Steinway has
spent in the last 100 years to convince everyone that Steinway is the best
piano built?  If you haven't noticed, by the way,  IT WORKED.  Whether you
believe their ads or not the general public seems to be of the distinct
impression that Steinway is the best.  They cannot say why exactly, but they
know it is  true because that is what they have always heard.

To calculate this you would have to add up all the print and media ads as
well as that spent with dealers to promote piano sales, and concerts, give
free grand pianos to artists.  Pay artists to take those free pianos.  Haul
pianos around the country to play at this or that artist's concerts.
Sponsorship of 78's, LP's, cassettes, and CD's made on Steinway pianos.  It
really adds up, doesn't it?
