Steinway parts - whippen heel

I'm not really talking about a specific example. Each manufacturers parts
have a slightly different profile and because of inconsistencies in Steinway
manufacturing, usually one will fit the existing system better than another.
I select knuckle to center based on the desired action ratio, or strike
weight ratio, if you prefer. Knuckle diameters effect both convergence
lines and friction. I prefer smaller knuckles when possible.

center pin to knuckle distance? I have not had the problem you pointed out
and am not sure why you did.
