> > Greg > > PS If anyone can recommend suppliers of substitute (read: better?) > hammers/parts for Steinways I am all ears...Thanks I buy mine direct from Renner mostly.... but Antares has a good line on them as well and can possibly help you with the right address. These would be from Europe tho. I might add that I buy copies that are as good as any origional parts ever could be and I do this because they are much less expensive, and because I like to fit my own parts. Last time I bought a set of prehung hammers was well 20 years ago. They were Yamahas, and were nicely done....but that didnt keep me from having to pop off a few and reglue them to fit the right hammer line. These days I wouldnt think of prehung anyways.... simply because of weight considerations. -- Richard Brekne RPT, N.P.T.F.
