Hi list Here in Europe happens the same!! I think the problem is that this pianos are made for the japanese humidity (wich is very very high: i had the experiencde!!) and when they came to other contryes with diferent humidities sometime the sounboard break... but the main problem is that most of the shops who sell this kind of pianos dont do the regulation that it should be done like, for example, the screws , wich are to loosed... and the cords some times are broken and most of the dealers dont fix it selleng the pianos like if ghey were made for it´s market!! I´ve a very nice relationship with some japanese technicians from Yamaha and from other campanys and this pianos are really cheap: most of the times japanese pay to techinicians to keep the pianos because they dont have enough space for them: sometimes they sleep under the piano (grand pianos)... i think this measure is to protect yamaha quality standards...
