NO SQUEAK

Last weekend I heard about a home-made recipe for a lubricant with Vaseline
and talcum powder. The exact amount was not known, but its praises were
plentiful.

anyway, I was told to have more powder than Vaseline, although an exact
ration was not given. So the next day I experimented with a ratio of 1 part
Vaseline to 2 parts powder. I used an empty film container to hold the
Vaseline. The Vaseline would not readily accept the powder, so I floated
the plastic container, with the mixture, in hot water. the heat seemed to
make the Vaseline more pliable and the powder easier to mix in.

I have not used this on a piano yet, but I just smeared some on the metal
loop that rubs against a rubber gasket on my kids swing set and
...adios...no squeak on the swing.

My ears are so grateful that I had to share this with my hundreds of "close"
friends.
