Piano regulated by someone who did not new (we see that most of the time), but may be the action hammer or whippen rail is broken , have a close look with a lamp Go lightly with the glide bolts. Very minimal pressure on them is helping the sound to be aerial you will see. I understand that you can play enough well to see that the piano is not working, have the correct key height , deep and keyframe bedding, and you will have more than half of the regulation done ! Not too much pressure ! Good luck Isaac OLEG > -----Message d'origine----- > De : owner-pianotech@ptg.org [mailto:owner-pianotech@ptg.org]De la part > de Bigeartb@AOL.COM > Envoye : mercredi 8 mai 2002 05:55 > A : pianotech@ptg.org > Objet : 1969 Steinway L CBS? > > > Hello Ya'll: > The church just received a 1969 Steinway L....beautiful walnut case > ...terrible, terrible touch......Mushy, no power, damper pedal > extremely hard > to depress... uneven tone quality. > QUESTION ...is this a CBS Piano???? > So far here are the problems: The keyframe was not bedded.
