Sanderson Scaling/Terry F

First question: Yes. Second question: I agree. On the few small grands I have had him do, we always end up replacing a few (up to five? if I recall correctly) plain tricords with wound bicords. Really helps clean up that tenor/bass break. He sends back graphs of tension, inharmonicity, etc. of the old scale and the new. Not that you really need them, because you can easily hear the difference, but it is very interesting and instructive to review the graphs.

In some situations, I feel it could easily be justifiable to replace only the bass strings, and hence only rescale there. I have done complete jobs on the few pianos I have restrung. I would always prefer to do a complete job. But then again, I would like to put in a new soundboard, new bridges, new action, etc.!
