Rescalers?

Nope. I think the last time I ordered from him I paid $100 for scaling and $8 per bass string. IMHO, it all depends on whether you are doing a patch job, or you want the piano to sound as good as is reasonably possible. IMHO, there is a difference! IMHO, the few little grands I have restrung have had the absolutely best sounding bass sections I have ever heard in a small piano, and the best tuning bass sections I have ever tuned on any piano (keeping yourself within the bass section - no funky noises with David's bass strings - you can tune perfect unisons with them). They are truly a delight. I have no reason to look elsewhere for bass strings.
