No Patrick,
I find that the paps mutes make a little noise as the mute rattles on =
the string.
I have sort of given the wood split mute a sideways glance every once =
and again but never purchased one.
Currantly tucked in the back of my mind is a split rubber mute with a =
stiffer wood handle. But cutting the mute and then splitting it have me =
stymied. Shaping it as well as attaching the mute to the handle is no =
problem.

Am I the only one who favors the very thin (1/4") 6" long mutes from =
APSCO (#15067)? Try 'em. I never really cared for Papp's mutes.
