Piano tuner haters

Papp's mute is fine, not particularly difficult to use.

I lately have to tune a Baldwin Hamilton (?) , while there was not
particular difficulties to mute (with rubber mute), but in the high treble,
the sound was so special that it was in fact easier to mute only one string
at a time to obtain a somewhat even sounding piano. A little tiring for the
ears indeed, but earplugs and a VT and the job was done fast.
