Willem: Thanks....Hammer shank knuckles....not wippen knuckles....By the way, my dampers are back in the piano in the correct position but you can bet y our tootie I'll not forget to number the next set. Everyone needs to realign a set of dampers one time. Since I had already refinished the damper heads, I cut the felt off with a knife and removed the sticky stuff with a wet ole sock and an iron.
