This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment WAIT!! Before you start the job, find out what arrangements the = customer has concerning insurance on the piano. The heat, soot, water vapor, etc. from a fire are like carcinogens to = the piano, resulting in ongoing series of "ailments" that will = eventually kill it. You've already seen the hammerhead felt coming = loose from the mouldings. You've already seen the rust forming on the = strings and pins. There are most likely plenty of other problems now = getting underway that won't be noticeable for awhile yet. About the = only way to stop this ugly sequence of events is to completely rebuild = the piano. Hopefully others on the list can advise on what is = rebuildable and what is too far gone. Z! I would like to = know the best kind of glue to use if not hide glue and best way to clamp = them. Any other information that may be helpful would be appreciated. = The piano is about 30 years old and there does not appear to be any = other problems except rust formation on the pins and strings. I realize = that some of the other hammers may become loose in the future and have = warned the client.
