I service a nice August Forster 6'4" that developed a damper lever =
squeak. I finally tracked it down to two levers, took them off and =
lubed them. This piano has a very unique mechanism. It has a metal rod =
like uprights. The dampers are installed with the flanges to the front =
with the rod behind them. I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to get =
the rod out to lube it without having to take all 67 or so dampers =
loose. The rod is mounted on 3 or 4 hinges like the uprights. There is =
a long rail that the damper flanges are all mounted to. I'm wondering =
if the rail can be removed. I didn't find mounting screws readily. =
Might they be underneath the keybed? The piano is ok for now, but I'm =
thinking ahead.

I have sent e mails to their distributor several times requesting a =
service manual, but have never received a response.

Thanks for any assistance with this.

The difficult, I do right away. The impossible takes a little longer!
