In response to the question about removing passwords on used computers,
I found this, as had already been suggested. ( Just wanted to add
verification to it.)

    Passwords
Q: when turned on all i see is a black screen prompting me for a
password the only password ive set does not work and then it says system
haulted. cant load windows thats it. a black screen ,

A: for some reason the system BIOS has a password set on it. This is
the basic way for keeping people off of your system. If you cannot enter
into the bios to turn it off (usally by hitting f1). The only other way that
I know of to get around it is to take out the battery on your motherboard,
which might be hard if you are not comfortable with opening up your
computer, if you are you can take it to a computer store that works on
computers and they can do it for you. Should take about 5-10min to fix. If
you are going to open it up it shouldn't be that hard to see it. Make sure
your computer is not plugged in. Pull out the battery for about 5 min,
restart the computer without the battery. After it doots up all the way shut
it down and then plug everything back in. You should now beable to enter
into the bios and reset or turn off the bios password. You might have to
restart your computer a couple of times while the bios refinds all of the
hardware in your system.
Hope this helped and good luck....
