Gerald, Wim, List,

If the roller leathers are in reasonable condition, then yes, there is a
suitable fix as has already been described, however, removing the hammers
from the stack is an unnecessary step, and if done, will cause needless
additional work.

By carefully taking one's time, and with the hammer assemblies attached,
the bolstering technique can be done rather easily, one roller at a time,
causing no harm to the piano parts.
