To those of you that have done the YC expanding bracket replacement:

Doing my first one, and have a question.

The center brackets I received are shaped and angled differently than the
originals. Installed them and set the action spread as directed. Seem to fit
onto the rails okay, but there's about at least a 1/8" gap between the bottom
of the brackets and the keyframe. The instructions say that the brackets
should fit the keyframe without warping it, but makes no mention of what to
do about it. Have any of you had to shim or replace the blocks that the
center brackets rest on?

Thanks (again),
Mary Bailey

p.s. - and my entry to DYE awards: making the world's most perfect splice in
a bass string only to discover that you forgot to run the string through the
agraffe first.
