You tell him just that way. Ask to see the invoice for the work done. He
may have very well gotten precisely what he paid for and was promised,
didn't hear what he was told, and presumed too much - or he was lied to and
ripped. In either case, he needs to know where he stands. Gently, but
leaving no doubt.
