Aural versus ETD tuning training

I'm pretty much staying out of this discussion except to say this:

I agree with the above statement, although in my case, I HAD to get an ETD
very early on to 'do my job'...but I learned to tune aurally soon after
that.

I'm living proof it's possible. That is all.
