See the cover of Herbie Hancock's 1974 album "Thrust". He's playing a 
keyboard that wraps around like that (well, an artist makes him look 
like he's playing a keyboard like that). The keyboard is part of a 
control panel for a spaceship that he's flying. Gotta love the 70's.
